Who We Serve Best

Pointer Creek is not designed to be everything to everyone. As your fiduciary, we work best with clients who value honesty, thoughtful planning, and a long-term partnership — not shortcuts, hype, or performance theater. Our best relationships share a handful of traits that have far more to do with mindset than with age or profession.

The Mindsets We Work Best With

You’re interviewing us as much as we’re interviewing you — fit matters, a lot. A fiduciary partnership with us fits best when:

  • You want the truth — even when it isn’t what you were hoping to hear. As your fiduciary, we won’t inflate assumptions or sugarcoat reality just to make a plan look better. You’d rather hear an honest “no” or “not yet” than a comfortable answer that won’t hold up.
  • You choose to delegate as a lifestyle decision. You may be perfectly capable of managing much of this yourself. You’d simply rather entrust the details to a capable fiduciary and spend your time and energy on your family, work, passions, travel, hobbies—or whatever matters more to you.
  • You want clarity, not jargon. No “strategy of the month.” You want the complexity handled behind the scenes and the conclusions and tradeoffs explained in plain English.
  • You’re looking for an advisory relationship you don’t have to replace. Maybe you’ve experienced advisor fatigue, product pitching, frequent turnover, or advice that seemed to begin with someone else’s agenda. You want a long-term fiduciary relationship built around your interests instead.
  • You think in decades, not quarters. You value patience, discipline, and follow-through — a long-term fiduciary thinking partner who keeps the people who come after you in mind.

If your goal requires aligning the sun, moon, stars, and a Powerball ticket, we’ll tell you—with a smile—and then build a plan around what can actually work.

Clients & Change Situations We Serve Especially Well

Pointer Creek serves the ongoing financial and planning needs of a diverse range of individuals, families, trusts, and other entities. These include privately held businesses, family limited partnerships (FLPs), private foundations, nonprofits and 501(c)(3) organizations, retirement plans, and endowments.

We also have particular depth in several change situations where thoughtful, multidisciplinary planning becomes especially valuable. These aren’t necessarily different “client types.” They’re inflection points when financial decisions begin interacting with taxes, investments, estate planning, business interests, family considerations, and long-term objectives.

Where We’re Not a Fit

Honesty runs both ways. Fiduciary respect means being just as clear about who we can’t serve well:

Where we’re not a fit

  • You’re looking for hot stock tips, market predictions, or something exciting to talk about on the golf course. That’s not how we manage serious money.
  • You want an advisor to tell you what you want to hear. Sometimes good fiduciary advice means saying that a goal, assumption, or strategy simply doesn’t work.
  • You need daily lifestyle policing or spending guardrails. If you need someone to stop the bottle service or put a hold on chartering the G650 to the beach, there are firms built for that. We’re not one of them.
  • Mutual respect isn’t negotiable here. A large portfolio doesn’t excuse treating our team—or the people around you—poorly. Fit matters more than account size.
