Pointer Creek Wealth Management offers a wide array of specialized fiduciary services to high- and ultra-high-net-worth families, individuals, trusts, retirement plans, charitable foundations, nonprofit organizations and other entities.
Regardless of how simple or nuanced the engagement, our services generally fall within three categories:
At Pointer Creek Wealth Management®, the plan comes before the transaction.
Every relationship begins with understanding what the money is intended to accomplish. Only then do we determine what planning, investment management, implementation, or ongoing oversight may be appropriate.
The amount of planning required depends upon the decision being made. For one client, that may mean a narrowly defined planning project addressing a single retirement account. For another, it may mean a comprehensive financial, retirement, tax and estate-planning engagement involving multiple generations, businesses, trust structures, properties and outside professionals.
Planning establishes where you’re going. From there, you decide which responsibilities you want to retain—and which you want Pointer Creek to assume in helping you get there.
Start with a Fiduciary Planning Project. Pointer Creek analyzes the situation, develops the architecture and provides the roadmap.
Choose Ongoing Fiduciary Planning. Pointer Creek proactively monitors, coordinates & advances the planning process.
Choose Ongoing Fiduciary Wealth Management. Pointer Creek assumes ongoing fiduciary responsibility for assets accepted under our management.
Clients may use one, two, or all three service models depending on their needs and the responsibilities they want to delegate. Some clients engage Pointer Creek for a planning project and implement the recommendations themselves. Others ask us to continue the planning, manage investment assets according to the plan, or assume both responsibilities.
None of these arrangements is inherently better than another. The appropriate relationship depends on what you want to accomplish, what you prefer to handle yourself, and what you would rather delegate to us.
When clients ask Pointer Creek to assume more than one of these responsibilities, an obvious question follows: how should the combined relationship be priced?
Because each service is priced on a stand-alone basis, some responsibilities become more efficient when performed together. When Pointer Creek provides both Ongoing Fiduciary Planning and Ongoing Fiduciary Wealth Management, activities that might otherwise require outside statements, telephone calls, transfer instructions, third-party coordination and separate implementation can often be incorporated into the ongoing relationship.
So a separate planning fee can appropriately coexist with a reduced asset-management rate — transparent pricing for the responsibilities Pointer Creek is actually being asked to assume.
Not sure which service model fits your situation?
You don’t need to decide before contacting us. An introductory conversation can help clarify what you’re trying to accomplish, what responsibilities you want to retain, and where Pointer Creek may be able to help.
